We’re looking for a passionate principal optical designer to join our core AI-BOLD development team and help shape the future of intelligent optics.
Key Responsibilities
Design, simulate, and optimize complex optical systems for AI-enhanced imaging platforms
Collaborate with AI and software teams to integrate optical models with machine learning algorithms
Perform tolerance and sensitivity analyses to ensure system robustness
Develop and document optical architectures, prototypes, and test setups
Support optical characterization, calibration, and validation of AI-BOLD prototypes
Qualifications
PhD degree in Optical Engineering, Physics, or related discipline
10+ years of experience in optical design and analysis
Advanced proficiency in Zemax or Code V
Solid understanding of imaging systems
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Based in (or willing to relocate to) Dallas/Fort Worth, TX
Preferred Experience
Integration of optical systems with AI or computational imaging pipelines
Familiarity with Python or MATLAB for optical simulations and automation
Work Model
Hybrid: 2–3 days on-site at our DFW facility, flexible remote days
